M77 presents Geometry and Poetry, a retrospective exhibition dedicated to Carla Badiali (1907-1992), leading artist of Como’s Abstract Art movement.
The show, organized in collaboration with the artist’s Estate and curated by the art historian and critic Luigi Cavadini, author of the artist’s General Catalogue, retraces Badiali’s entire career spanning six decades of activity, from the first half of the 1920s to the late 1980s—through more than fifty works, featuring her painting, drawing, and collage works.
Coming thirty-five years after the anthological exhibition held in Como in 1990, Geometry and Poetry closes with a brief exploration of Como abstractionism and its exponents who spent their lives researching the abstract sphere, from Manlio Rho to Mario Radice, from Aldo Galli to Carla Prina and Alvaro Molteni.
The opening reception will take place on Monday, January 20, 2025, at 7 p.m.
